At last the wait is over. SolidWorks Corporation today officially announced details of SolidWorks 2008 to the public. Highlights of the changes include an all new User Interface, expansion of SWIFT technology, and all new 3D Graphics. Packed with over 250 enhancements, the primary focus areas for the user in this release are:
- Focus on Design, not CAD
- Reuse Existing Designs to Save Time
- Improve Their Designs
Details of the announcement can be found in the SolidWorks press release. There is also SolidWorks 2008 Highlights page with images and demos of the product.
There are many enhancements to cover. One of the biggest points of discussion for this release will no doubt be the change in the User Interface. I will have a dedicated Blog post coming soon to go through all the changes and discuss how they will affect your everyday use of SolidWorks. Overall I like most of the changes thus far. More on that to come!
Matt Lombard and Brian McElyea already have posts up with I’m sure more to follow. I’m sure most if not all of the SolidWorks Bloggers will have posts up soon as well.
Stay tuned…..MUCH MORE to come!
